Patricia Ann Strickland, of Cusseta, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, in Valley, at the age of 80. Born on May 31, 1944,
Patricia's life was a testament to the power of warmth and generosity that she extended to everyone she met. Patricia was employed with the Valley Times, where her commitment and hard work left an indelible mark. She was known as a kind-hearted individual who brought joy and dedication to her work every day. Patricia's legacy is carried on by her loving family, who were the center of her world.
She is survived by her children, Alice McCloskey, Jimmy Strickland and his wife Elle, Barney Strickland and his wife Anita, and Ricky Strickland and his wife Shirley. Patricia's joy was multiplied by the laughter and love of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly. Her nurturing spirit will also live on through her numerous nieces and nephews, who were blessed to have her as an aunt. She was the beloved sister to Jeraline Williamson, Margie Childs and her husband Marlin, and Doris Mote, all of whom will cherish the memories of the times they shared. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Odell and Lula Mae Brown, who instilled in her the values of kindness and compassion that she so effortlessly embodied throughout her life. She was also preceded in death by, three grandchildren, three brothers, a sister, and the father of her children, JW Strickland.
Patricia's life was a beautiful example of love, kindness, and community spirit. She will be remembered for her gentle demeanor, her unwavering kindness, and the profound impact she had on everyone she encountered. Her memory will be a guiding light to all who knew her, inspiring them to live with the same grace and kindness that she demonstrated every day. As we bid farewell to Patricia Ann Strickland, we celebrate the remarkable life she led and the countless lives she touched. Her memory will be treasured for generations to come.
A funeral service will be held Monday, March 3, 2025, 2:30 P.M. (EST) at Johnson-Brown Service Funeral Home in Valley. Pastor Nathan Lawrence will officiate.
Visitation will be held one hour before the service.
Interment will follow the service at Cusseta Cemetery.
