Randy Griffin

      Randy Griffin, 69, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

     Mr. Griffin was born on June 23, 1953 in Langdale, Alabama to the late Jesse E. Griffin and Ethel Elizabeth Mitchell Griffin.

     As a young man, Randy was an aspiring traveler who wanted to travel and see the world.  He joined the United States Military to serve his country, see new places, and satisfy his desire to travel.

     He was a career serviceman who served in the United States Coast Guard for 16 years and the United States Air Force for 4 years.  While in the Air Force, he achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant serving as an Aviation Flight Mechanic.  He was an excellent technical aviation mechanic.

     While in the United States Coast Guard, Randy earned his SCUBA certification and became a highly trained SCUBA professional. He went on to become an instructor and teach SCUBA certification to others.

     Randy attended West Georgia Technical School where he specialized in automotive technology.  He then went on to teach Automotive Technology at West Georgia Tech.

    Randy was an avid University of Alabama football fan and a wonderful father who will be missed.

    He is survived by his wife, Yoshie Griffin; children, Jesse Griffin, Sonny Griffin (Hiromi); grandchild, Yosuke Griffin; special cousins, James and Jan Sanders, Derrick Griffin, and Dale Lowery; numerous extended family members and friends.

     A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2023, at 3:00P.M. EST at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel in Valley.  Randy’s family will be receiving friends from 2:00P.M. EST until 3:00P.M. EST at the funeral home.
