Rayford Bradley "Pop" Easterwood Obituary

 

 

Rayford Bradley Easterwood (Pop) passed away November 2nd, 2020 at East Alabama Medical Center after a short battle with cancer.  Bradley was born in West Point, GA on November 6, 1941.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joel Rayford, his mother Margaret Golden and his sister Karen Easterwood.

He is survived by his wife of over 53 years, Jerry Lee (Dumpy) Easterwood; his sons, Lance (Amy), Jud (Christine); five grandchildren, Grant, Grace, Leah, Grayson and Bryce.  Bradley has two sisters, Cathy (Bo) McQuiston and Penny Allen.  

Bradley graduated from Valley High School in 1960.  Shortly after graduation, he served in the United States Army.  After serving for a couple of years, he went to work at West Point Pepperell.  A couple of years later he went to work for the U.S. Postal Service.  He worked there over 25 years and retired as the Assistant Postmaster.  After a short retirement, he went to work for Interstate/Valley Telephone Company-Knology.  He worked there over 10 years.

During his free time, he loved spending time traveling with his wife and fishing.  Pop was always there for his children and grandchildren.  He never missed a ballgame or an invitation to swing them.  He always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger.  Bradley also loved Crimson Tide Football.

A private memorial service will be held at the Lanett First Christian Church in Lanett, Alabama. 

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the church.

Due to the social gathering restrictions, the service will be private for family only.
