Robert Fred Lumpkin

   Robert Fred (Freddy) Lumpkin Sr., 78, of Cusseta, Alabama passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025.

   A Memorial Service will be held at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley, Alabama on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in the chapel.

   Freddy was previously employed at the Opelika Police Department for seventeen years and left at the rank of Police Captain. He then was the Police Chief and Public Safety Director for the city of Lafayette. He finished his working career at Mando American Corporation in Opelika, in 2024.

   He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a Blue Angel Alumni. Freddy was an avid hunter and fisherman.

   Freddy was preceded in death by his wife Ramona Miller Lumpkin; parents, Robert Bascom Lumpkin Jr., and Agnes Elizabeth Lumpkin, his brother James Nolan (Butch) Lumpkin.

   He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Jimmerson, of Opelika, Alabama.
