Robert "Bobby" Lee Folds Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Lee Folds, known affectionately as Bobby to his friends and family, passed away on March 15, 2024, at the age of 57. Born on January 29, 1967, in Valley, Alabama, Bobby was a man whose humor, handiness, and gentle spirit brought joy and laughter to all who knew him.

Bobby was a cherished brother to Cathy (Johnny Crowe) Taylor and Lamar Folds. He was a beloved uncle to Tayler (Bren) Mahan, Brooke (Mitchel) Kilday, and Jessica (Brian) Thomas. His role as a great-uncle to Mara Mahan, Huston Hornsby, Braxton Thomas, and Jackson Thomas was one he embraced with love and pride. Aunts Faye Rutland and Peggy White, along with many cousins, friends, and extended family members, will fondly remember Bobby's kind heart and generous nature.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Lee Geen Folds and Betty Joe Folds, his nephews Matthew Campbell and Jacob Crowe, and his grandparents Robert and Lessie Ozley, Newell and Ruth Folds. Bobby's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his memory will continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration.

Bobby had a passion for the outdoors, which was evident in his love for fishing. He could often be found at the water's edge, rod in hand, waiting patiently for the next big catch. His love for collecting and selling scrap iron was more than a hobby; it was a testament to his resourcefulness and his ability to find value in the overlooked.

Those who knew Bobby would describe him as a man with a ready smile and a quick wit. His ability to find humor in everyday situations was one of his most endearing qualities. He was also incredibly handy, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His gentle demeanor made him a confidant and friend to many, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children... to leave the world a bit better... to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded." Bobby embodied this sentiment, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those around him.

As we bid farewell to Bobby, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with laughter, kindness, and love. His legacy is one of joy, friendship, and the simple pleasures of life. Bobby's memory will be cherished and kept alive in the stories shared by those who knew him best.

A private gathering to honor Bobby's life will be held by his family. In keeping with his unassuming nature, the ceremony will be a reflection of the simple, meaningful life he led. Bobby's spirit will forever be a beacon of light for his loved ones, guiding them with memories of happier times and the knowledge that he lived his life with purpose and joy.
