Robert Harvey Milner, a resident of Claremore, OK, passed away on April 15, 2021, after an extended illness. He was 63.
Robert was a long-time resident of Denver, Colorado. After following in his father’s footsteps and serving in the United States Air Force, he returned to Denver and was employed as the manager of the fishing department at a popular sporting goods store.
Robert was a self-taught historian. Of special interest to him were World War II, the Civil War and the Confederacy. Because of his deep knowledge and passion for the subject matter, he was often invited to be a guest speaker in school classrooms. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Colorado State Muzzle Loading Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lt Col (ret) Earl Milner and Anita Putnam Milner. He is survived by an aunt, Linda Smith Dollar, of Dothan, and by cousins Beatrice Milner of Valley, Jeremy Dollar (Amy) of Birmingham, Dr. Brantley Dollar Gaitan of Scottsdale, AZ, and Sheila Milner Houge (David) of Pensacola, FL. His special friends were Chris Vosberg, of Broken Arrow, OK, and Sherill Vosberg of Claremore, OK.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at 11:30 A.M. EDT.
