Robert M. Hubbard Obituary

Robert M. Hubbard, age 84, of Valley passed away on Saturday, March 14th, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Hubbard was born on March 25th, 1935 in Ridge Grove, Alabama to the late E.L. Hubbard and Nannie Lou Ferguson Hubbard.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Jack, Milford (Bud), and Ray Hubbard, Faye Hubbard, Elizabeth Burdette, and Pearl Brown.

He retired from the West Point Foundry.

He was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church in Valley and in the last few years attended the Langdale Congregational Christian Church.

He was a member of the Masonic Brotherhood for 50 years that began in the Valley Masonic Lodge and later led him to the Roanoke Masonic Lodge #132.   He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a member of the York Rite, and a member of The Shriners.   

Mr. Hubbard enjoyed gardening, writing poems, and had written several books over the years.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Hubbard; sister, Jeanette Haynes, Waxhaw, N.C.; sister-n-law, Deidra (Ken) McGill, Opelika; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 17th, 2020 at 10:00A.M. CDT /11:00A.M. EDT at the Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Roanoke, Alabama. The Reverend Rusty Letson officiating.  His family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00P.M. EDT until 8:00P.M. EDT /5:00P.M. CDT until 7:00P.M. CDT.
