Roland Wayne Miller Obituary

Roland Wayne Miller passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on May 15, 1936, Wayne's life was characterized by his unwavering faith, his love for the great outdoors, and the deep bonds he forged with his beloved family and community.

Wayne is survived by his cherished wife, Cheryl Darlene Miller, and their loving children: David Miller and his wife Beth, Tammy Miller Cruze, James Sims and his wife April, and Dale Ring. He was a proud uncle to a host of nieces and nephews and a doting grandfather and great-grandfather to many, who will all miss his wisdom and warmth. Wayne's siblings, Glenda Orange, Wayne Miller, J.W. Miller with his wife Shirley, Gary Miller with his wife Ann, Steve Miller with his wife Connie, and Ricky Miller with his wife Laura, remember him fondly and will carry his memory in their hearts.

Preceding Wayne in death were his parents, John and Olivia Miller; his former wife, Mary Diane Miller; his sons, Jeffrey and Steve Miller and his siblings, Christine Smith, Harvey Miller, Brent Miller, and Wynema Hill. They have now welcomed him into eternal rest.

For 21 years, he was the pastor at Riverview Church of God, touching countless lives with his sermons and guidance before retiring. His early career was with Interstate Telephone Company, and he concluded his professional journey at Knology.

He proudly served in the United States Navy.

An avid outdoorsman, Wayne found solace and joy in the beauty of nature. He was an enthusiastic hunter and fisherman. His younger years saw him as a formidable boxer in the Navy, a testament to his strength and tenacity. Above all, Wayne's love for the Lord was the cornerstone of his existence, and he instilled this deep faith in all aspects of his life.
