Ronald C. "R. C." Smith

     Mr. Ronald C. “R. C.” Smith, age 80, of Cusseta, Alabama passed away on Thursday, April 22nd, 2021 at Bethany House in Auburn, Alabama. He was born on September 11th, 1940 at home in Chambers County, Alabama.

     Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Cora Smith; children, Audie (Carolyn) Smith, David (Barbara) Smith, Angelia (Randy) Templeton, and Beth (Rodney) Alexander; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Smith, Harvey (Janice) Smith, Tony (Gina) Smith, and Mike Morgan; sister-in-law, Pat Smith.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Helen Smith; granddaughters, Holly Polston and Amanda Polston.

     Mr. Smith loved listening to country and bluegrass music, hunting for Indian artifacts, and watching Alabama football and NASAR. He was a fisherman and enjoyed making his own lures. He liked to throw horseshoes and had a good time competing in different tournaments. In his later years he enjoyed attending Bobby’s Backyard Brotherhood.

     Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 26th, 2021 at 2:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley, Alabama. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The Reverend Rusty Letson will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday afternoon from 1:00 PM (EST) until the service hour at the funeral home.
