Roy Jones House "Little Bud"

     Roy Jones House "Little Bud" was born January 20, 1942 in Marks, Mississippi and passed away on April 17, 2023.

     Bud was raised by his loving parents, Charlie Frank House and Ina Claire Jones House along with his siblings, Charlie Jr. “Bubber”, Bobby, Becky and Lucy. He was a star athlete at Lanett High School with stories of his determination and grit still being told more than 60 years later. He followed in his father’s footsteps working at House Plumbing Company before starting his own, Bud House Plumbing. If he wasn’t under a house working or digging in the dirt, he could be found chatting with friends at his favorite dives or checking on some of his favorite customers. He preferred US currency but has been known to work for a sweet treat! And if we could ask him today, he would insist that some of you still owe him.

     Bud loved his work, antique cars, motorcycles, water skiing (with or without skis) and was always up for an adventure. He made many cross-country trips on his motorcycle with friends. He went scuba diving in some of the most beautiful places on earth. He had a servant’s heart ending most conversations with, “What can I do for you?” He was quick with a joke and never met a stranger. His playful nature and laugh was contagious. I sure hope the Waffle House is open where he is going and that the waitresses know which side of the bread to butter.

     Bud was preceded in death by a loving son, Joshua House, his parents, Charlie and Ina House, and his sister and confidant, Lucy Simmons (Ben).

     He is survived by siblings, Charlie “Bubber”, Bobby and Becky (Eddie); by his children, Kathy King, Nancy Herring (Bobby), Shane House (Shanon), Jonah House (Joni); by 9 grandchildren, great grandchildren, special nieces and nephews; by companion, Donna Hicks and too many lifelong friends to count.

     A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 21st, 2023 at 3:00 PM (EST) at the Fairfax First Baptist Church in Valley, Alabama. No visitation is planned.
