Sandra Whitman

     Today we are honoring the life of Sandra Whitman, a cherished member of the Lanett, Alabama community, who passed away peacefully on July 15, 2024. Born on March 19, 1946, in Lanett, Sandra's journey of 78 years was marked by her fun spirit, a passion and dedication to those she loved.

     Sandra, known affectionately by all who knew her, built a life that exemplified kindness, and friendliness. She forged a respected career in accounting, progressing from key punch to billing to customer service. Her professional associations found her as a loyal employee and excellent friend. Sandra’s contribution resonated beyond retirement, leaving a legacy of hard work and meticulous service.

     The allure of the gridiron was powerful for Sandra, whose love for Lanett High School and Alabama football was a testament to her steadfast enthusiasm. She treasured the unforgettable moment when she met the renowned Coach Nick Saban, an experience that spoke to her deep connection with the sport.

     Beyond the numbers and the touchdowns, Sandra found great pleasure in life's simpler joys. Her happiness was most evident when sharing meals and laughter with friends or hunting for treasures while shopping. Her infectious smile was never brighter than after enjoying a beloved ice cream from Dairy Queen, a simple pleasure that brought her unadulterated delight.

     Sandra's memory burns brightly in the hearts of her loving nieces and nephews: Steve Fincher, Matt Fincher, Al Fincher, Luanne Fincher, Tim Roberts, and Ginger Roberts Wallis, as well as her dear cousins, Corey Norrell and Carol Reeves. She now joins in eternal rest her husband Ross Whitman, her sisters Jenny Fincher and Sybil Roberts, and her nephews Barry Fincher and David Roberts. Sandra Whitman's radiant spirit and enduring warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

     Sandra’s Family will hold a private Celebration of her Life at a later date.
