Obituary

     Sheila Haynes Boyd, a loving and generous soul, passed away peacefully of natural causes on May 19, 2023, in St. Joseph, Missouri. Born on June 12, 1950, in Opelika, Alabama, Sheila was known for her kind heart and warm spirit, always making everyone feel like family in her home.

     Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Dennie Haynes and Gladys Mozelle Tidwell, her husband, Charles, and siblings, Gwen Smith, Kenny Haynes, and Larry Haynes. She is survived by her children, Toby Boyd (Colleen), Valley, Danny Boyd (Angie), Valley, and Kelly ReJoyce Barr (Michael), Saint Joseph, MO. Sheila also leaves behind her siblings, Debbie East (Gary) Lanett, Sonya Denigris, Valley, Chris Haynes (April), Kennesaw, GA, 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Linda Haynes, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

     Sheila was a dedicated and hardworking woman, retiring from Wal-Mart after many years of service. She was known for her warm and inviting home, where she welcomed everyone with open arms and made them feel like family. Her generosity and kindness were evident in all aspects of her life, from her work to her personal relationships.

     Sheila had a passion for the color pink and enjoyed speed reading, a skill she honed over the years. She never met a stranger, always eager to make new friends and share her love of life with others. Sheila was an avid collector of Barbie dolls, a hobby that brought her great joy and allowed her to share her love of the iconic toy with others. She was also a devoted fan of Elvis, often playing his music and sharing her admiration for the King of Rock and Roll with those around her.

     In her free time, Sheila enjoyed shopping and spending time at the beach, soaking up the sun and the beauty of the ocean. She was a loving, kind, and generous woman who touched the lives of many and will be remembered for her warm spirit and unwavering love for her family and friends.

     As we remember Sheila, we celebrate her life and the many ways she made the world a brighter and more loving place. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her love.

     Rest in peace, Sheila Haynes Boyd. Your light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved you, and your memory will be cherished forever.

     Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 10:00A.M. EDT at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel with interment following in Shawmut Cemetery.  Her family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6:00P.M. EDT until 8:00P.M. EDT.
