Steven Flournoy Obituary

Steven Earl Flournoy, known affectionately as Steven to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2024, in Valley, Alabama. Born on May 13, 1953, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Steven's journey through life was marked by his unwavering spirit and the joy he brought to those around him.

A proud Army veteran, Steven dedicated a portion of his life to serving his country with honor and valor. His commitment to community extended beyond his military service, as he was actively involved in various associations that benefited from his leadership and passion.

Steven's interests painted the picture of a man who loved life's simple pleasures. His heart beat to the rumble of Harley Davidson motorcycles, and he found solace in the thrill of NASCAR races. An avid outdoorsman, Steven cherished moments spent fishing and hunting, embracing the tranquility of nature. Yet, nothing compared to the excitement he felt cheering on his beloved Auburn football team, a true die-hard fan through and through.

Above all, Steven adored his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Flournoy; his brother, Kenny (Beth) Henrick; his son, Scott Flournoy; his daughter, Teri (Christopher Frazier) Flournoy; his granddaughters, Kinsley (Hunter Oliver) Flournoy and Raylee Chadwick; his grandson, Tristyn Maddux; his great-granddaughter, Aalayah Oliver; his sisters, Jeanie Flournoy, Shirley Frost, and Iris Smith; and his nephew, Ryan Abbott, and nieces, Janie Henrick and Stevie Henrick. Steven was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Flournoy; his father, Chester Flournoy; his step-father, Terry Henrick; and his mother, Idis Henrick.

Those who knew Steven will remember him as a funny, handy, and wise man. His laughter was infectious, his skills were unmatched, and his advice was sought by many. Steven's legacy will live on through the cherished memories he created with his family and friends, and the impact he made on the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever be a guiding light to those he loved.
