Mr. Thomas Daniel Ison Jr., 74, of West Point died Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.
Born March 25, 1951, in West Point, Georgia. Mr. Ison was the son of the late Thomas Willard Ison and Selma Estelle Foster Ison. Thomas was a devoted father, proud papaw, caring brother, and a friend to all who knew him. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, loved, and valued. Throughout life he was employed at the Opelika Mill and the Lanett Mill he was also a logger employed with Pelham Logging, and Robert Parkman Logging.
Mr. Ison is survived by his two son's Thomas James Ison of Lambert, AL and Kenneth Gene Ison of Valley, AL; and his two daughter's Kelly Estelle Ison of West Point, GA and Amanda Danielle Ison of West Point, GA; one of his brothers died this past September Joseph Ison of Pine Mountain, GA; his sister Francis Moidja of Huntsville, AL and brother Stephen Ison of West Point, GA; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren
Funeral services for Thomas will be held on Friday, January 9th, 2026, at 2:30 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Interment will follow in Marseilles cemetery. Pastor Dennis Harmon will officiate. Thomas’s family will receive friends for visitation Friday one hour prior to the service at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
