Thomas Heflin Askew, Jr.

Mr. Thomas Heflin Askew, Jr. 73, a resident of Lanett, AL passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at his residence.  Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 2:00 PM EST from Johnson Memorial Gardens in Valley, AL with Rev. Derrick Rutledge officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 -1:45 PM EST Wednesday at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Hester Askew; children, Thomas H. Askew, III (Shelby) & Brandi Askew Quinton; two sisters, Barbara Rains (Bob) & Vicky Walden (Lamar); five grandchildren, Harlie Alls (Kirby), Jaime Quinton, Dallas Quinton, Adelaide Askew, & Hayden Quinton; four great-grandchildren, Rowynn Alls, Jackson Alls, Stella Quinton, & Stevie Alls. 

Mr. Askew was preceded in death by his parents, Doris & Thomas Heflin Askew, Sr. and two sisters, Connie Shelnutt and Joan Tingle.

Mr. Askew was born in West Point, GA on August 12, 1948.  He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was of the Baptist faith. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
