Tommie H. Brown

     Mrs. Tommie H. Brown, age 89, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Saturday, January 21st, 2023 at her residence.

     Mrs. Brown was born on February 23rd, 1933 in Langdale, Alabama to the late Rush and Thelma Hall. She was the first drum major at Valley High School in 1951. She loved the Lord and was a charter member of Fairview Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 60years, sang in the choir, and worked with the children’s church. She was very competitive and enjoyed attending sporting events. She competed in the Alabama State Masters Games at the Valley Sportsplex where she received over 100 awards. She loved flowers, working in her garden, and watching the hummingbirds that came to visit. She loved spending time with family and friends.

     Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter, Judy B. Brown (Verlon); son, Bradley Pete Brown (Melody); grandchildren, Justin Brown (Kim), Daphne Reed, Mandy Bracknell (Brandon), and Kacey Watts (Zach); eleven great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; sisters, Reita Timlin (Roger) and Jane Keith (Clyde); sister-in-law, Glenella Hall.

     She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman E. Brown; grandson, Jeremy Brown; brother, Charles Hall.

     Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 24th, 2023 at 3:00 PM (EST) at Fairview Baptist Church in Valley. Interment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery. The Reverend Carl Benedict and the Reverend Tim Bass will officiate. Mrs. Brown’s family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 2:00 PM (EST) until the service hour at the church.
