It is with loving memory and serene hearts that we announce the passing of Tracy Lynn Cook. Tracy was born on December 7, 1962, in the quiet town of Langdale, Alabama, and left us on October 12, 2024, in Lanett, Alabama. A man of few words, Tracy's actions spoke volumes about his devotion and love for his family.
Tracy leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, treasured by his wife of forty-one years, Kim Cook, and his children, son Derek Cook and his wife Jayme, and daughter Kendall Curley and her husband Bradley. He was the proud grandfather to Skyler Maranville, Hazel Curley, Sophia Daniel, and Zach Daniel and loving uncle to nieces Stephanie Ward and Andrea Crowder, and nephew, Daniel Cook. Preceding him in passing were his parents, Paul and Kathleen Cook, and his brothers, Jerry Wayne Cook and David Cook, leaving a trail of cherished memories.
Known for his handy and generous nature, Tracy was invariably the person you could count on in a time of need. His hobbies and interests reflected his love for kinship and quiet pastimes. Tracy enjoyed watching Kendall Barrell race and grand-daughter Skyler ride her pony Raindrop. He shared a special bond with his devoted dog, Bruiser, also known as Peewee. His moments spent with his son Derek practicing gunmanship are among the many fond memories he leaves behind.
Tracy's life was defined by his role as a devoted caregiver to his family, friends, and grandchildren. Those who were blessed to know him will always remember Tracy as a loving, handy, and generous soul—a gentle guardian who was always there when it mattered most. His presence will be deeply missed, but the impact of his tender spirit will stay with those who loved him, forevermore.
