Prayer for Serenity
God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time,
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardship as a pathway to peace;
taking, as Jesus did,
this sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it;
trusting that You will make all things right
if I surrender to Your will;
so that I may be reasonable happy in this life
and supremely happy with You forever in the next.

     Mr. Trey Payne, age 28, of Lanett, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 in Lanett. He was born on November 12th, 1990 in Opelika, Alabama.

     Trey is survived by his wife, Meg Payne; his child, Abel Payne; his brother, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Payne; his grandmother, Linda Shaw; his aunt, Denise (Kevin) Bibb.

     He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tracy Shaw.

     Trey was a loving and devoted husband and father. He was also a cherished brother, grandson, cousin, and nephew. Trey took great pleasure in his family “adventures” and enjoyed finding ways to surprise his wife.

     A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 8th, 2019 at 11:00 AM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Pastor John Samanie will officiate. The family will receive friends Monday morning from 10:00 AM (EST) until the service hour at the funeral home.
