Waldo Edwards passed away on January 18th, 2025, at the age of 75 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.
Waldo was born on September 14th, 1949, in Statesboro, Georgia to parents Clifford and Mary Edwards.
Waldo is survived by his wife of 56 years, Phyllis Edwards; his daughters, Cori Robertson (Howard) and Krista Cole (Jason); grandchildren, Ethan LeNoir, Gavin Cole, and Marylisa Cole; and his siblings, Linda Ziglar, Reggie Edwards, and Diane Greene; and his faithful and loving companion, Boggie his fur baby. Waldo was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Mary Edwards.
Waldo’s career began and ended in the paint business for 52 years. His expertise in the paint business was unmatched, most especially in matching colors. His customers became his dearest friends. Through his Christian faith, he not only sold paint, he shared Jesus. He attended the First Baptist Church of Lanett.
Waldo was an avid golfer. He enjoyed playing with special friends David Drummond, Robert Hale, Richard Coker, Bob Bailey, and his best friend of all Boggie his fur baby who was his constant companion. Waldo also had a passion for playing his guitar and singing. He often shared this passion in Church and on his front porch.
A Memorial service for Waldo will be held on Saturday, January 25th, 2025, at 3:00 PM (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. The Reverend Brad Reed will officiate. No visitation is planned.
In lieu of flowers, Waldo’s family asks that donations be made to Compassus Hospice in his memory.
