April 21, 1933-April 22, 2022

 

Wanda Kelley Davis was born in Columbus, GA and grew up in Langdale, AL.  She attended and graduated from Valley High School, where she met and eventually married her sweetheart, Joe Warren Davis of Fairfax, AL.  She attended the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing and went from there to pursue a career as a coronary care nurse in Huntsville, AL, Auburn, AL, and Dalton, GA. Upon retirement, she worked in the Dalton Public Schools and Cobb County Public Schools for many years in various capacities.

She is survived by her daughters, Vicki Davis McKenzie (Ken) of Blue Ridge, GA and Kelly Davis Ellis (Tinsley) of Atlanta, GA.  She is also survived by her three beloved grandchildren, Kenneth B. (Mac) McKenzie, IV, Ian Davis McKenzie (Destiny), and Marcella Geneva (Genny) Ellis. Also surviving are her sisters LaRue Alford and Annette White. She was predeceased by her husband, Joe, her grandson, William Tinsley Ellis, III, sisters, Sarah Harrison, Othelle Blair, Katherine Williamson and brother, Robert Kelley and Sonny Alford.

A private Service of Witness to the Resurrection will be held at graveside on Monday, April 25 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be given to the American Cancer Society.
