William Lomas Thomaston, Jr., 82, of Valley passed away on Friday, October 23rd, 2020 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
Mr. Thomaston was born in Lanett, Alabama on January 3rd, 1938 to the late William Lomas Thomaston, Sr., and Lillian Jewel Brewer Thomaston. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Ann Smallwood Thomaston.
Mr. Thomaston and his late wife were members of the First Baptist Church of Shawmut and attended Fairfax United Methodist Church too.
He retired from the Interstate Valley Phone Company after 40 years of service.
Mr. Thomaston loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and an avid hunter. He was an exceptionally talented woodworker.
He is survived by his children, LuAnn (Darryl) Sims, Melinda (Terry) Hadaway, Steve (Kim) Thomaston; sister, Frances Crawley; grandchildren, Brian Hadaway, Daniel Hadaway, Joy S. Yates, Kane Thomaston, Seth Thomaston, Scott Thomaston; 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 26th, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett.
