My Uncle Kenny -- He was my Dad's next in line younger brother. I and the other children got the best of him I think. He was young enough when we were kids - and with no responsibilities at the time that would eventually weigh heavy - maybe unconsciously heavy like they tend to do on all of us -- later when he did what we all do or have to do - had kids of our own where love carries new anxieties and distractions - it's not all fun like it is when they aren't your own, right? He adored my dad like I adored my sister - both now gone. I had a crush on him in adolescence and I'll carry the torch Uncle Kenny. Thank you for the laughter, your carrying me on your shoulders and your concern that my own quite capable mother might not be diapering me correctly -- NO MORE WORRIES for you. Your mother told me when her brother left her house saying his goodbyes before leaving for WWII that she watched you from inside the house linger before what would eventually be your own departure and watch you play in an old cast iron tub in the yard -- in your navy playsuit. I'm glad he carried that memory with him to a dark place ending in light and that we each have our own to carry with us. Thank you.

Ken, Jr., Mike, Robert, and Michele:
I am so sorry for your loss of such a wonderful man. I remember your dad's smiling face and outgoing personality. I am quite sure that everyone, in the old neighborhood in Gretna, misses Mr. Ken. One day, we will all meet again. Rest in peace, old friend.

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of your dear father & grandfather. Yes, he was a very kind and friendly man. He was a friend to the Kraus Families on Richard Street in Gretna, Louisiana for many years.
