Mr. Cary Thomas Sparks, 89, a resident of West Point, GA and a former resident of Lanett, AL passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at his residence.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 2:00 PM EST from Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with Rev. Freddie Lindsey officiating.  Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00-2:00 EST prior to the service at the funeral home.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Lois Sanders Sparks, children, Carey Lavelle Nobles (Ronnie), Roy Lavonne Sparks (Renee), Jane Spraggins (Lamar); grandchildren, Kerry, Mallory, & Kayla Harrelson, Jason Sparks, Carole Ann Amos, Stephanie Green, Bethanie Hinton, Melanie Sawhill; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Blanche Morgan; several nieces and nephews; and caretaker, Mattie Caldwell.

Mr. Sparks was born in Chambers County, AL.  He retired from West Point Pepperell’s Lanett Mill.  He enjoyed his family and he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He was a member of Huguley Church of the Nazarene.  The family would like to give a special thanks to West Georgia Hospice for their care and support.
